CEO London Marathon effort – Quiz for a Cause

Our Chief Executive, Mark Greatrex is running in this year’s London Marathon in aid of the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC).

RSBC is an amazing children’s charity that support visually impaired children.  They believe no child in the UK should grow up to be poor or lonely just because they are blind. There are an estimated 36,000 blind and partially sighted children and young people in England and Wales. Every day, four more children will be diagnosed with sight loss.

RSBC create a better life for blind children, by helping every young person we work with to find and fulfil their own unique potential.  How do they do this?  Through supporting parents to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to help guide their child through sight loss, via our national Family Support Service and our Advice section. They promote best-in-class, inclusive education and learning at all levels, from our residential further education facility, Dorton College, to our Employability course, which helps young blind people develop the skills to get into employment.

In order to raise funs for this excellent work, Mark is holding a Quiz night on the 19th March 2019 at Halley House School in Dalston. The quiz will be hosted by the fabulous comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw from Radio 4’s Dead Ringers. The tickets cost £10 each and can be bought through Mark’s just giving page (see attached flyer for details).  There will be some delicious nibbles courtesy of Michael from The Saville Club in Mayfair (a parent at the school). There will also be a bar to help get those brain cells working!

In addition to the quiz, there will also be a raffle.  Prizes have been generously donated, with an Ipad from Ream, a meal for two at Tipsey’s and some freshly baked brownies from Arbor.

There will also be a cash bar to help get those brain cells working!  Doors open at 6.30pm, so get your team together, book your babysitters and come and have some fun in aid of the RSBC.
