BPET signs up to ‘Let’s Go Zero 2030’ Campaign

As the UK hosts COP26, we are proud to announce that BPET has signed up to the ‘Let’s Go Zero 2030’ campaign. We look forward to working with them going forward. They will be attending our January 2022 Inset Day BPET Conference, where they will meet over 300 of our staff.

The Net Carbon topic has been on the Board of Trustees agenda for a while, as Trustee Simon Rule, Founder and CEO of Place Group Consulting Ltd, is already active in this regard for his own businesses and is keen to ensure BPET and all of our schools starts to take action.

Having recently attended the Education Estates Conference Simon confirmed as a recent board meeting “THE ONLY topic of conversation is how schools meet zero carbon targets through improving buildings and encouraging behavioural change!”

Our new Director of Operations, Richard Crompton, has already started work through eEnergy to complete lighting survey’s in each of our eight schools. As our leader on premises and asset management, he will be a key figure in the organisation focussing on the Zero Carbon by 2030 target.

We have also invited The Green Schools Project to our conference in January 2022. We will be working with all Head Teachers and staff going forward after this important Trust event.
