It was a historic day for Watling Park School on Monday 11 September 2017, as it marked the first day of school in the new building on Pavilion Way, Burnt Oak.
Year 1 and Year 2 children arrived at school looking very excited to start the school year in the highly anticipated new building. The school actively encourages all parents to walk their children to school and the staff team was therefore delighted that the majority of children that were able to walk to school, and hope this continues.
The new school building includes spacious classrooms, a large playing field and tarmac playground, a specific Early Years Foundation Stage outdoor learning area, a large hall and an onsite kitchen. The children enjoyed having their school meal cooked onsite by the new catering company Caterlink. A multi-use 3G pitch is also being built on the grounds, which will be available for the local community to use in the evenings and at weekends in November 2017.
With a great staff team including some new faces, Watling Park School is in a great position to continue to ensure pupil’s enjoy their learning and succeed. Click here to meet the team.
The school operates on a two-form entry system and will grow organically to reach capacity by September 2021.
Watling Park School will be welcoming prospective families to have a tour of the school and meet the Headteacher and other members of staff on Friday 13th October at 3.30pm. This is open for parents/carers with children due to start Reception in 2018 or the following years. It is a great opportunity to see the learning environment in action and ask any questions that you might have. We hope to see you there!
