We are delighted to confirm that The Department for Education (DfE) recently approved BPET to become the sponsors of Whiteknights Primary School, Wokingham, as an academy.
This was ratified at the school’s July Head Teacher Board meeting. So we are now waiting for an Academy Order to be issued at the start of the 2021-22 academic year, when we can begin the conversion and due diligence process.
Whiteknights School is a high performing school in Wokingham, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. It is one of just 34 English Hubs.
The schools values and ethos align with that of BPET and we look forward to working through the conversion process to welcome them into our Trust.
Whiteknights will become the third school within the Trust to be based in Berkshire, in the Borough of Wokingham. We aim to establish solid links with Evendons Primary School and Braywick Court School so that together they can share, where appropriate, specialist teaching resources and engage in collaboration activities which will benefit both staff and pupils of each school.

12 March 2021:
It has been a long journey and with the COVID-19 pandemic slowing progress during 2020, we are so excited to be so close to the completion of the permanent home for Deer Park School at 389-391 Richmond Road, Tw1 2EF.
This week’s site visit, captured here in this video montage, shows there is still some work to be done before we BPET take control in the next 7 – 10 days, but that many features of the school are complete.
Once BPET and Deer Park School take control of the site we will be using the remainder of the spring term and the Easter break to install all the furniture, fittings and finally school teaching equipment into the state of the art building, ready for our pupils to start onsite on 22 April 2021!
Delighted to say that we have been invited to join Challenge Partners Leadership Network.
This offers BPET Central Team and our eight primary free schools networking opportunities with other small and medium sized Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) and schools, to learn from each other and to enhance the life chances of all children through collaboration to combine our specialist wisdom.
Trust Leaders Network
“Our national network brings together like-minded trust leaders passionate about extending excellence in their trusts and committed to sharing great practice so that the whole system improves – consistent with our upwards convergence model.
Learning from each other and the business world beyond, the network enables you to connect with experts, leading thinkers and peers across the country.”
Trust Peer Review
Emulating the success of our school Quality Assurance Review, our Trust Peer Review enables improvement through challenge and collaboration. Independently reviewed by the NFER, it was found to benefit trusts and reviewers alike. The host trust is supported to sharpen its improvement strategies and leadership, while peer reviewers gain unique insights to support development in themselves and their trusts.
Trust peer reviewers are led by an independent expert and work with host trust leaders as one team to build a picture of how school improvement operates across the trust and the impact it is having. This informs rich professional dialogue about strengths, areas for development and next steps, which are captured in a written report. The BPET CEO and Director of Education have been trained to undertake Trust Peer Reviews.
We are delighted to announce that Evendons Primary School, Berkshire, has joined Bellevue Place Education Trust (BPET) on 1 February 2020.
Opened in September 2014, Evendons Primary School is a very successful Free School in Wokingham. Driven by the energy and passion of local parents, it has gone from strength to strength and in June 2017 was rated by OfSTED to be an Outstanding school.
July 2019 saw the first year group to complete Year 6 with pupils achieving average results in their core subject areas and benefiting from a rich, outdoor curriculum with a core focus on STEM subjects. Their STEM focus premeditates through teaching and learning and is a key strength of the school.
Over the past two years, Evendons have been seeking a multi academy trust to join, recognising that there is greater security and opportunity by being part of a Trust than a stand-alone Free School. Bellevue Place was chosen as the preferred Trust in the autumn of 2019.
BPET Chief Executive Mark Greatrex said “Evendons will enrich the Bellevue Place group and being close, geographically, to Braywick Court School, Maidenhead we anticipate the development a local partnership within the wider multi academy trust. This will benefit all the pupils we serve and promote greater staff development opportunities as a group of schools.”
Bellevue Place Education Trust are now a multi academy trust of eight schools across London and Berkshire, educating 2,030 pupils who are supported by 283 members of staff.
