We are pleased to announce that at the Islington Council Planning Meeting on 13 October, councillors approved the design proposal for a new school building for Whitehall Park School, on the former Ashmount School site.
With this approval, work will begin on demolishing the old school over the winter, with construction of the new building expected to start in Spring 2016. The whole build programme is expected to be completed for pupils to start the new term in September 2016 in state-of-the-art facilities.
Chair of Bellevue Place Education Trust, Claire Delaney said “This is a significant development for Whitehall Park School, which opened in September 2014 and is currently oversubscribed. We are delighted that planning has been granted”.
The delighted of the 120 parents, staff and supporters of the school is captured in this Islington Tribute article. The building project has now been given the green light and work will begin shortly.
