BPET Schools Celebrated for Outstanding Outcomes for Disadvantaged Pupils
Halley House School, Kilburn Grange School, and Whiteknights Primary School have each received a letter of congratulations from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, recognising their exceptional outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in the 2024/25 academic year. The letter was sent to the top 25 per cent nationally, based on outcomes for poorer pupils.
In the letter, the Secretary of State praised the schools for being “among the very best nationally”, highlighting the dedication of staff and the hard work of pupils. She noted that these achievements demonstrate “what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together”.
This recognition reflects the commitment across our schools to ensuring every child, regardless of background, receives the highest quality education and the support they need to Learn, Enjoy, and Succeed. The letter also encouraged our schools to continue leading the way by sharing best practice, engaging with regional networks, and supporting wider collaboration across the sector.
We are incredibly proud of the teams at these schools for their continued and relentless focus on excellence, ambition, and equity. For example, last year, 78% of pupils at Halley House School achieved the expected standards in Reading, Writing and maths at the end of Year 6, which is a 17% increase on the year before, and 16% above the national average.
These schools' achievement truly embodies BPET’s mission to deliver exceptional education and life‑changing opportunities for all pupils. Congratulations to all staff and pupils involved, this recognition is truly well deserved.
